New FPGA SOM based on Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC architecture

iWave Systems, a leading global embedded solution provider company, launched a new System on Module, iW-RainboW-G30M, based on the latest Xilinx® Zynq® UltraScale+™ MPSoC CG/EG/EV devices, that feature innovative ARM®+ FPGA architecture for high -performance, industrial grade FPGA applications.

The SOM combines a feature rich Quad / Dual Cortex® A53 application processor, a Dual Cortex® R5 real time processor, ARM® Mali 400 MP2 Graphics Processing Unit with industry-leading 16nm FinFET+ programmable logic cells ranging from 192k to 504k, all realized in a single, highly-integrated compact (95mm x 75mm) module. Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC SOM provides 64 bit processor scalability and expandable 2GB DDR4 FPGA memory, making it ideal for image, video and signal processing applications. 

The Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC SOM features an integrated H.264/H.265 video codec capable of simultaneous encode and decode up to 60 fps. It also features 16 channels GTH transceivers up to 16.3 Gbps and 4 channels GTR transceivers up to 6 Gbps that enables high speed on-board connectivity peripherals such as PCIe, USB3.0, SATA3.1, display port and Gigabit Ethernet.

The SOM delivers exceptional performance in rugged environments and offers a high level of power efficiency and cost savings enabling unlimited possibilities for applications such as 5G wireless, next generation ADAS, embedded vision, Industrial IoT, cloud computing, aerospace and machine vision. 

The new Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC module is an addition to the Company’s growing FPGA modules following the Zynq®-7000 SoC based SODIMM module. Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC offers multiple levels of hardware and software security and up to 5X system level performance per watt over Zynq-7000 SoCs.
