iWave Systems Develops Highly Adaptive Intelligent SOM Powered by Xilinx Zynq® UltraScale+™ ZU19EG MPSoC

iWave Systems, a leader in FPGA based embedded systems and solutions, today announced a new and highly adaptable System-on-Module (SOM), developed in continuation to the remarkable outcome of the Zynq UltraScale+ ZU7/ZU5/ZU4 MPSoC SOM that addressed intelligent adaptive processing in key automotive and industrial applications.

The Zynq UltraScale+ ZU19/ZU17/ZU11 MPSoC SOM strengthens the rich characteristics of its predecessor with enhanced processing system (PS) and processing logic (PL) functionality, improved security and robustness, and exceptional memory and transceiver performances. This makes it an extremely beneficial solution for high-end applications such as high-speed networking using 25G, 40G & 100G Optical, Cloud Computing, 4K Video Surveillance System, Deep Neural AI/ML Networks, Automotive Imaging Radar, Intelligent Data Centre, and more.

The new SOM encompasses the following features:

  • An excellent combination of FPGA and MPSoC functionality with six heterogeneous ARM® processor cores (four 64-bit ARM® Cortex™-A53 and two 32-bit ARM® Cortex™-R5 Cores)
  • An ARM® Mali-400 MP2 GPU, and more than 1 million latest-generation UltraScale+ programmable logic cells, all included in a C1760 package
  • A compact-size measuring 110mm by 75mm, equipped with ZU19/17/11 EG MPSoC, 64-Bit 4GB DDR4 for PS
  • Dual 4GB DDR4 64-Bit for PL, 8GB eMMC (expandable up to 128GB) as well as integrated with Ethernet PHY, USB PHY, and power circuitry to provide control and processing capabilities as an embedded system
  • 16 x PL-GTY @32.75Gbps, 32 x PL-GTH @16.3Gbps, 4 x PS-GTR @6Gbps Transceivers & FPGA IOs up to 48LVDS/96SE + 46SE IOs that are terminated at a high-speed Board-to-Board (B2B) connector
  • Triple 4GB DDR4-64bit RAM to facilitate faster data transfer and an ultra-low latency execution path for real-time processing
  • On-board high-speed transceiver to provide interface options at optimal power, complementing a wide range of applications such as 8K Video Transmission, 100 Gb/s Ethernet, 150 Gb/s Interlaken and High-Speed ADC/DAC, etc.,
