Windows Embedded Compact 2013 on i.MX6 Platforms

As part of this journey, iWave and Microsoft join hands together to announce the launch of Windows Embedded Compact 2013 BSP for iWave’s latest Qseven SOM and Freescale’s SABRE Platform based on Freescale’s i.MX6x Processor (ARM Cortex A9). Windows Embedded Compact 2013 is an ideal operating system for devices like Human Machine Interface panels, Portable Medical Devices, Industrial Panel PC, Retail POS terminals, Industrial automation etc.
This new Version of Windows Embedded Compact is a streamlined, componentized device operating system. With support for x86 and ARM architectures, Windows Embedded Compact 2013 provides the flexibility and real-time support to help device manufacturers reduce time to market while creating easy-to-use, multi-touch intelligent systems that help enterprises improve worker productivity.
Windows Embedded Compact 2013 provides various advanced features, such as support for the latest version of Visual Studio, networking stack improvements, Support for .NET Compact Framework Version 3.9, Multiple Processor Support (SMP)and XAML improvements. This latest version of visual studio 2012 includes latest arm compiler besides newest C Run time libraries. Windows Embedded Compact 2013 has incorporated Expression Blend to design applications for compact devices, removing the need to download a separate tool called as Expression Blend for Visual Studio 2012.
BSP provides flexible debugging options through standard KITL interface. Ethernet and USB Serial interfaces can be used for KITL download and debug. BSP also provides efficient storage mechanisms with SD/MMC, QSPI NOR Flash and USB 2.0 Controller Support. iWave’s Windows Embedded Compact 2013 is enriched with interesting features like SD Boot, Accelerometer, HCD Touch driver, PMIC, RTC, I2C, KITL, Display, Ambient Light sensor, Camera, Audio, Battery (MAX 8903), PCIe (Endpoint), SDMA, eMMC Boot, PWM (Backlight) which all together make our Windows Embedded Compact 2013 stand out.
