iWave supports USB Bluetooth on Android(Version 1.0)

Bangalore : iWave systems Technologies, a key player providing embedded solutions now provide USB-Bluetooth support on Google’s Android GUI platform.

Earlier, iWave had successfully demonstrated the support for Android on its i.MX27 Based Hand-held Mobility Platform.

Android is a software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and rich set of applications. Android's Bluetooth stack uses BlueZ version 3.36 for GAP(Generic Access Profile), SDP(Service Discovery Protocol), and RFCOMM(Radio Frequency Communication) profiles, and is a SIG-qualified Bluetooth 2.0 host stack.

Following profiles has been tested in Android USB Bluetooth.

  • Headset and Handsfree (v1.5) profiles (HSP and HFP)

iWave supports the USB Bluetooth on Android apart from the UART Bluetooth supported by default.
