iWave’s Solutions help Customers to upgrade from X86 to ARM for better power optimized platforms
iWave Systems Technologies, focusing on Product Engineering Services involving Embedded Hardware, Software & FPGA has come up with many unique Q7 based solutions for x86 board owners to upgrade their systems with better power optimized multicore ARM Cortex A9/A8 based CPU’s. iWave has achieved this by introducing Freescale’s i.MX6/i.MX51, Altera’s Cyclone V SOC and TI’s DM8168 based multi core ARM Cortex A8/A9 based Q7 compatible CPU modules to replace the older power hungry X86 modules so that the customer will experience higher efficiency in the system without changing existing carrier board.
Migration from x86 to ARM using ARM Cortex based Qseven SOMs:
iWave Systems, an innovator in the development of highly integrated, high performance, low power System On Modules and Development Platforms, is a key performer in providing complex board designs based on ARM CPU’s. iWave’s dedicated R&D team provides high levels of hardware & software expertise on ARM designs including specification, design and implementation of complex ARM systems.
In the recent past iWave systems helped to replace several power hungry X86 based Q7 modules for industrial automation, transportation & HMI application segment. During these replacements, iWave played crucial role in supporting the software migration from X86 to ARM on Linux, Android and WEC7 BSP environments.
iWave has also formerly worked on X86 Atom Architecture. Since ARM architecture has come into a bright image in the Embedded Market with high performance at low power consumption, iWave adapted to support ARM architecture based modules for better power optimized product solutions.
ARM has graduated from its initial light-weight processors for mobile devices to beefier cores like multi core A9, A15, and A53 which can compete with higher end X86 architectures. The multi core ARM Cortex™-A9 processors provides unprecedented levels of performance and power efficiency making it an ideal solution for designs requiring high performance in low power or thermally constrained cost-sensitive devices. Beside this, these ARM devices support high bandwidth peripherals like PCIe Gen2, SATA 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI and LVDS etc. with extended and industrial operating temperature package which is ideal choice for several high end embedded applications.
iWave Systems has won the confidence of its customers over the years by being a reliable partner in developing innovative products in the areas of Medical, Industrial and Automotive domains. iWave is providing many ARM cortex based Q7 solutions to its customers to upgrade themselves from the X86 platforms with Linux, Android and WEC7 BSP support.
