iWave announces i.MX6UL SODIMM SOM

In conjunction 2015 Freescale Technology Forum (FTF) America’s, iWave Systems unveiled new i.MX6UL SODIMM SOM called iW-RainboW-G18M-SODIMM. The i.MX6 UltraLite (i.MX6UL) SoC is latest low-power, Cortex A7 based SoC launched by Freescale aimed at very low power cost optimized applications.

At compact 67.6 x 29mm size, the iW-RainboW-G18M-SODIMM i.MX6UL SOM integrates plenty of features. The i.MX6UL module is equipped with 256MB of DDR3 RAM, which is expandable to 1GB. 256MB of NAND flash is supported on the SOM which is also expandable. Other memory possibilities include optional eMMC and QSPI flash and an optional microSD slot.

Dual Fast Ethernet PHY is supported on the SOM. But if one of the Ethernet PHY is sacrificed, one can get additional three more UARTs, a 4×4 keypad, or an RMII interface. All the IO peripheral interfaces supported by i.MX6UL SOC is available via the 200 pin SODIMM edge connector.

The i.MX6UL SOM module supports both commercial and industrial -40 to 85°C temperatures. Freescale’s newly announced PF3000 PMIC is al

so supported on the SOM. iW-RainboW-G18M-SODIMM SOM is the first one to include the PF3000 PMIC for the i.MX6UL SOC.

The SOM is intended for various applications including but not limited to Industrial HMI, Access Control, Mobile POS, IOT Gateway, Wearable devices, secure e-commerce, Energy management, Industrial Control & automation, Medical & Healthcare devices, White goods & Smart appliances.
