iWave’s i.MX6 Qseven SOM is Microsoft Azure Certified for IoT
Microsoft’s Azure IoT suite helps customers to quickly start the implementation of the different IoT scenarios. The Azure IoT Suite is designed to integrate with existing processes, devices, and systems to enable and automate common workflows and unlock new value by making the best use of both existing and new data sources.
Azure IoT Suite helps to connect the devices, analyse collected data, and integrate business systems. It combines different services and offering in Azure such as Azure IOT Hub, Event Hubs etc. The Azure Internet of Things (IoT) enables services such as,
- Collecting data from devices
- Analysing the data collected
- Storing and querying large data sets
- Visualising both real-time and historical data
Integrating with back-office systems
Azure IoT Hub is the main part of Azure IoT Suite. This service provides the device to cloud and cloud to device messaging capabilities and acts as the gateway to the cloud and the other key IoT Suite services. It connects millions of devices and enables secure communications using per-device security credentials and access control. It supports AMQP, HTTP and MQTT protocol for connection. Also IoT Hub links up with other Azure services, such as Azure Machine Learning and Azure Stream Analytics, to process collected data and if necessary act on the results in real time.
iWave’s iW-RainboW-G15M is NXP's i.MX6 based Qseven compatible CPU module for performance driven multimedia focused applications. The SOM is provided with Windows Embedded Compact 2013 BSP with various its peripheral function drivers.
The i.MX6 SOM module is now pre-tested and certified to work with Azure IoT. The SOM communicates with Azure IoT hub through HTTP protocol. The SOM is able to send messages to IoT hub and receive messages from IOT hub successfully. The below figure shows the connection between the IoT hub and the device.
Azure IoT is changing and transforming everything from business to life. Everything is being wired up or connected wirelessly like architecture, energy efficient sensing, secure networks, quality of service, new protocols, participatory sensing, data mining, cloud computing, and international activities. Azure IoT simply means that powerful information will be at our fingertips. The iWave’s i.MX6 Qseven SOM module enabled with the Azure IoT is quicker scalable solution for customers to bring their IoT solutions to market quickly.
